After the India vs New Zealand match, the schedule of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has been confirmed. India registered a thumping 44-run win against New Zealand on Sunday. This was the last league match of the tournament. India remained the table topper of Group-A. In such a situation, the Indian team captained by Rohit Sharma will clash with Australia in the first semi-final of the tournament. India hoisted the victory flag in its three matches in the group stage and secured six points.
India had defeated Pakistan and Bangladesh
India had defeated Pakistan and Bangladesh by 6-6 wickets before New Zealand. At the same time, Australia finished second in Group-B. It won one out of three matches while two matches were washed out due to rain. Australia defeated England by five wickets. Australia had a total of four points in its account. The India vs Australia semi-final will be held on Tuesday (March 2) at the Dubai ground. The Champions Trophy is hosted by Pakistan but India is playing all its matches in Dubai under the hybrid model.
The second semi-final of the tournament will be played between South Africa and New Zealand on Wednesday, March 5. South Africa topped Group-B. It collected 5 points. South Africa defeated Afghanistan by 107 runs and beat England by seven wickets. South Africa’s match against Australia was washed out due to rain. New Zealand finished the league stage with four points. The Kiwi team defeated Pakistan by 60 runs and also defeated Bangladesh by five wickets. The final will be held on March 9. If India manages to win the semi-final, the final will also be held in Dubai.

Talking about the India vs New Zealand match, the Rohit Brigade defended the score of 249/9. India lost the wickets of Shubman Gill (2), Rohit (15) and Virat Kohli (11) after adding 30 runs, after which Shreyas Iyer played an innings of 79 runs in 98 balls. Hardik Pandya contributed 45 and Axar Patel contributed 42 runs. In reply, New Zealand were all out for 205 runs in 45.3 overs. Except Kane Williamson (81 in 120 balls), no Kiwi player could compete with the Indian bowlers. For India, spinner Varun Chakraborty took five wickets for 42 runs. Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik and Axar took one wicket each. Varun was selected Player of the Match.
