The ninth match of the group stage of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was to be played today (27 February 2025) between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. But due to rain this match could not be completed. In view of the continuous bad weather, the umpires finally decided to cancel the match. After which the captains of both the teams looked very disappointed. After the match, Pakistani captain Mohammad Rizwan shared his views and said, ‘We wanted to perform well and wanted to show a good game in front of our community, the expectations were very high. We did not perform well and it is disappointing for us.’

Mohammad Rizwan Statement Against Bangladesh: Rizwan further said, ‘You can learn from your mistakes. We have made mistakes in the last few matches. Hopefully, we will learn from them. Our next tour is to New Zealand. Where we will try to perform better. We will learn from the mistakes we made against New Zealand in Pakistan and try to play well in New Zealand.’
He said, ‘When the players who were performing well in Australia, South Africa and Zimbabwe for the last few months suddenly get injured, the balance of the team gets disturbed. As a captain, you also have to pay attention to this. On one hand you can say that the team was disturbed, but this is not an excuse. Yes, Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayyub were injured, but we have to learn from this.’
On the question of bench strength, Rizwan replied, ‘This is a very difficult question. Pakistan’s bench strength I have to look at the five teams of the Pakistan Cup. We need to improve different things. If we have to improve and take Pakistan to a higher level, we need awareness and professionalism. We see its level in the Champions Trophy, but more improvement is needed.’
