Afghanistan opener Ibrahim Zadran on Wednesday rocked the Champions Trophy 2025 against England. He created a new record by tearing apart England’s bowlers on the Lahore ground. Ibrahim has done the feat of playing the biggest innings in Champions Trophy history. He scored 177 runs in 146 balls with the help of 12 fours and 6 sixes. He broke the record of England opener Ben Duckett. Duckett’s record did not last even 5 days. Duckett scored 165 runs in 143 balls against Australia on 22 February.

Ibrahim not only made the highest individual score of his ODI career but also made the record of the highest innings in ODI on behalf of Afghanistan. Earlier also this record was in the name of Ibrahim. Ibrahim has done wonders of playing the fourth highest ODI innings on Pakistani soil. He has surpassed Duckett (165) and Andrew Hudson (161). Gary Kirsten holds the record of the highest individual score in ODI in Pakistan. Former South African batsman Kirsten scored an unbeaten 188 against UAE at the Rawalpindi ground in 1996.

AFG vs ENG : Afghanistan won the toss
Afghanistan won the toss and chose to bat against England but the start was disappointing. Jofra Archer sent Rahmanullah Gurbaz (6), Siddiqullah Atal (4) and Rahmat Shah (4) to the pavilion in the first powerplay. In such a situation, Ibrahim took charge well and made three important partnerships. He shared a 103-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Hashmatullah Shahidi (40 off 67 balls). Shahidi was dismissed in the 30th over.
Ibrahim completed his sixth ODI century in 106 balls. He has become the first Afghanistan player to score a century in the Champions Trophy. Ibrahim shared a 72-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Azmatullah Umarzai (41 off 31 balls). He added 111 runs for the sixth wicket with Mohammad Nabi (40 off 24 balls). Liam Livingstone dismissed Ibrahim and Nabi in the 50th over. Afghanistan scored 325 for the loss of 7 wickets.
