IND vs ENG, 1st T20I: Big news has come out regarding the first match of the T20I series to be played between India and England. The visiting England has announced its playing XI.

The T20I series between India and England is going to start tomorrow i.e. 22 January. A total of 5 T20I matches will be played in this series. The first match will be played in Kolkata for which the playing XI has been announced. The visiting English team has revealed its strong playing-11 for the first T20I match against India. England Cricket released its playing-11 on Instagram. England has included 4 fast bowlers in its playing XI keeping in mind the Kolkata pitch.

Phil Salt has been given the responsibility of wicketkeeping in place of captain Jos Buttler. England cricket team coach Brendon McCullum had already told that Butler will not do wicketkeeping in the first T20I match to be played in Kolkata. After the playing-11 came out, it became clear that Phil Salt will be seen in the role of wicketkeeping in place of Butler.

Apart from wicketkeeping, Phil Salt will start the batting with Ben Duckett. At the same time, captain Jos Butler will bat at number three. Apart from Gus Atkinson and Jamie Overton, fast bowlers Jofra Archer and Mark Wood have also been included in the playing eleven. A strong all-rounder in the form of Liam Livingstone has been given a chance in the playing eleven.
