Poor World Cup Show : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially terminated its ties with Mohammad Wasim, ending his tenure as head coach of the women’s team following their disappointing performance in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Following the Pakistan team’s poor performance in the Women’s World Cup, the PCB has removed head coach Mohammad Wasim. His tenure was extended, but the World Cup campaign was poor, leading to the head coach’s dismissal.

Poor World Cup Show : The PCB confirmed this through an official press release on Monday, November 3, and stated that the search for a new head coach has begun. The statement further stated, “The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the completion of Mohammad Wasim’s tenure as head coach of the Pakistan national women’s cricket team.” The press release further stated, “The process for appointing a new head coach is currently underway and the successor will be announced in due course.” The PCB parted ways with Mohammad Wasim because the Pakistan women’s team failed to win a single World Cup. Pakistan finished last in the eight-team tournament.

Poor World Cup Show :Pakistan played seven matches in the Women’s World Cup, losing four of them, while three matches were abandoned due to rain. Following the team’s early exit, speculation had been rife that the PCB was considering changes to the coaching system to improve the women’s cricket structure ahead of future tournaments. In a statement, the PCB reiterated its long-term commitment to the development of the women’s game in the country. The board further stated, “The PCB is committed to strengthening women’s cricket in Pakistan and ensuring that the team receives the best possible support to achieve sustained success at the international level.” It is worth noting that Muhammad Wasim was appointed head coach of the women’s team ahead of the Women’s Asia Cup in June 2024. Pakistan did not perform well in that tournament either.
